|Domestic Abuse Network|
Thanks to support from our Police and Crime Commissioner, Ron Hogg, East Durham Trust has been able to establish an active forum for groups and individuals whose work is touched by Domestic Abuse.
The group has now met on three occasions and has already shared vital information about each other’s services and resources available.
Practical examples of early success include a number of emergency parcels being distributed to individuals in crisis situations. These parcels are specifically designed to respond to the needs of people who find themselves in unanticipated isolation whilst support services are established.
Members of the Network meet at Community House
Our core membership group consists of East Durham Trust, Public Health, Durham County Council, Durham Police, One Point Children’s Services, Safer Neighbourhood Unit, Police, East Durham Homes, Housing Solutions, Safer Durham Partnership, Community Representation, East Durham Area Action Partnership, Adult Services, Disability Services and Lifeline. Attendees thus far have also included representatives from Harbour, Victim Support, One Point, the Halo Project, and Community Centre managers. Topics for discussion have ranged from safety in the home to planning an event for International Women’s Day.
