|Sport Makers Project|
Sport Makers are people who organise activities for people in the local community. The activities can be as informal as going for a run once a week or playing football in the park, to the more formal activities of setting up a Back to Netball group or developing an Under 18s team at the local rugby club.
The activities you can get involved in can include, promoting new sessions, signposting people to opportunities or assisting with an activity.
To become a Sport Maker all you need to do is
• Come along to a local Sport Makers meeting – Here we will provide you with information on organising sports activities. We can also tell you about what is already going on in your local area if you want to help out.
• Leave with some Addidas kit and plenty of ideas of how to make sport happen in your area.
You must be aged 16 or over to become a Sport Maker and be relatively new to volunteering in Sport. The activity you organise must also be for those aged 16 or over.
Large groups of Sport Makers, looking to organise an activity may be eligible for funding to help set up their activity.
